14 Karat Georgian-Revival Covered Watch
Constructed by hand in 14 karat gold with an unmistakable rosy undertone that dates this piece to the 1930s, this ornate covered watch boasts an exquisite plot twist!
A perfect example of the repoussé technique, giving the appearance of intricately-carved details, but using a fraction of the metal, resulting in a lightweight but highly-decorated piece. Repousse became popular in the Georgian era, from when this watch takes inspiration, when gold was fairly scarce and making statement jewelry with as little metal as possible became chic, and much more affordable! The hand-chased details adorn the entirety of the watch and its individual links, following all the way to the push-lock clasp. The ingenious cover is hinged and hides the face of the watch, allowing the wearer to keep her time exactly how she likes it — private. This fine, covered wristwatch is in excellent working order as it was just serviced by our watch repair specialist, and we guarantee the movement for a year from the date of purchase. It can easily fit a wrist up to 6 and 1/2 inches or less.
Much more than meets the eye!
