Early Deco Square Platinum Diamond Cocktail Ring
There is nothing more perfect than a square, except one handmade of platinum and diamonds! This pinnacle of perfection was made in the early 20th century, when the deco aesthetic was just beginning, emphasizing geometric patterns and shapes. The ring utilizes diamonds from the Victorian period, as they are almost all old mine cuts. The cut of the diamonds presents a distinct contrast to the precision in the ring's design, considering they are each a bit different, cut close to their natural form, in imperfect, yet incredibly beautiful proportions. They are kaleidoscopic and add immense character to this statement ring. The center diamond weighs .80 carat, is an H-I color grade, and an SI1 clarity grade. The diamonds surrounding have a total weight of about 1 carat, are G-H color grades, and VS clarity grades. The gallery and shank of the ring are equally beautiful, carved with curly flourishes that speak to the Edwardian era and add a more feminine touch. The ring is currently a size 7 1/4 and may be easily resized upon request. The top of the ring measures 5/8 by 5/8 inch.
