Edwardian .97 Carat Old Mine Diamond Carved Solitaire
Arts and crafts style details give this classic solitaire a character all its own! Arts and crafts was an aesthetic movement in the late 19th century and turn of the 20th century that coincided with art nouveau. Like art nouveau, it revered curved, natural forms. It was a movement based on the belief that beauty, especially nature's beauty, should be accessible to all classes and artisans should be utilized above machines. Both movements were a backlash against the industrial revolution and sought to prioritize beauty and art over mass production. This ring is a fine example in 18k white gold. Hand-carved details and abstract heart cut-outs subtly embellish the shoulders of the ring. Pierced patterns let light flow in the basket mounting, illuminating the stunning old mine cut diamond. The diamond weighs just under a carat at .97, has a J-K color grade, an SI1 clarity grade and is certified by EGL USA. It is currently a size 6 1/4 and may be resized up or down upon request.
