Edwardian Diamond and Sapphire Bar Pin c1910
Exceptional relics hold a beauty that is simply not found or replicated today. This Edwardian bar pin is one of those exemplary pieces– it inspires awe and wonder with its striking beauty upon the very first glance. Though its design is fairly simple, each antique-cut stone is brilliant, unique, and thoughtfully placed, summing up to a jewel of remarkable beauty and versatility. This stunning piece was handmade in France around 1910 in 18k yellow gold with a naturally antiqued silver top. Around 1.30 carats of old mine cut diamonds graduate from the center to the ends of the piece. They range in G-J color grades and VS to SI clarity grades. An additional .20 carat of single-cut and rose-cut diamonds alternate between French cut sapphires, creating a dynamic pattern. The sapphires are synthetic as was common at the time, and priceless to replace. The pin or brooch is arguably the most versatile piece of jewelry you can own: pinning it to a garment instantly elevates your look, fastening it to your hair creates an unmatched elegance, and hanging it on a chain makes a statement necklace. This Edwardian bar pin is ready to do just that and more, as a prized piece in any collection. It measures 3 3/4 inches long and 1/4 inch at its widest point. The safety is a very secure turning tube catch.
