Edwardian Old European Diamond Solitaire
The most subtle details set this classic antique solitaire apart! Upon first glance, the diamond is extraordinarily enchanting, with a glitter that outshines diamonds twice its size, even of similar cut, color, and clarity. This exceptionalism comes from its faceted girdle, which adds an unusual twinkle around the entire rim of the stone. Most diamond girdles (or the very outer circumference edge of the stone) are left thin and unpolished, and sometimes simply polished– faceting like this is fairly rare and adds a unique brilliance! The handmade traditional solitaire setting impresses with its own subtle details– a stunning crown-like platinum basket replaces your average, basic prongs, set atop a beautifully aged 14k yellow gold band. The .74 carat old European cut diamond is certified by GIA as a K color grade and a clean SI1 clarity grade. We believe this ring to have been made between 1900 and 1915. It is currently a size 5 1/2 and may be easily resized up or down upon request.
