Fred A. Block Heart Trembler Brooch c1940
Fred A. Block of Chicago was a clothing designer prominent in the 1930s to the 1950s who made high quality costume jewelry to accessorize and promote their clothing lines. Today their jewels are increasingly rare, valuable, and collectible! This stunning piece features a big blue asscher-cut glass crystal at its center surrounded by round and oval cut white crystals, all set atop Block's signature springs. The springs allow for a subtle 'trembling' movement that gives off a wild sparkle as the wearer walks! This rare beauty was made in the late 1940s and measures about 2 1/2 inches at its widest points.
