Georgian Pinchbeck Hand-painted Portrait Bracelet
Sow the seeds of love and harvest happiness! This is one of our most unique antiques. The loving couple of harvesting farmers are hand-painted on enamel in this remarkable pinchbeck bracelet that dates back to the 1830s! Pinchbeck is an incomparable alloy made to look and wear just like gold and was used to make 'carriage jewelry', jewelry one would travel with in order to keep their original gold pieces safe. Today fine pinchbeck antique jewelry is valued nearly as much as natural precious metals! At almost 200 years old, the metal still shines bright and is in excellent condition. It is very leightweight, yet solid and strong. The bracelet is 7 1/2 inches around, fitting an average to large sized wrist. It is 2 inches at it's widest point.
