Old European Diamond Belcher Ring c1910
This antique beauty is distinctly American in its style– the claw-like setting known as the 'belcher', was created by designer Thomas Belcher. The style is defined by prongs cut right out of what was originally a flush mounting! This maintains the security and lower profile of the flush setting while allowing more light to flow through the diamond, giving it a more robust brilliance in a rich, bold setting. This one is unique for the deep valleys on its sides, which add elegant curves that accentuate the warm gold tones and perfectly frame the stunning old European cut diamond.
This ring was handmade around 1910 in 14k slightly blush yellow gold. It is set with a gorgeous .95 carat colorless E-F grade, SI2 clarity grade old European cut diamond certified by EGL USA (EGL Report #US400162908D). It is currently a size 8 3/4 and may be easily resized up or down upon request.
