This stunning lavaliere pendant exudes romance! The lavaliere style pendant was made popular and named for the Duchesse de la Vallière, a mistress of Louis XIV of France, and refers to a drop pendant. Today we refer specifically to the Art Nouveau style drop pendants we see from the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods. They are beautiful in their petite size and intricate, delicate detailing, and this one is no exception with its lustrous natural pearls softly shining throughout and its brilliant blue sapphire touch.
This lavaliere pendant is set in 14k yellow gold with naturally occuring pearls and a fine sapphire. It dates to around 1890. It measures about 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. The chain is not included, though options are available here, and many more in our shop, please inquire!
