Retro Ruby & Diamond 'Peacock' Ring
A fun and flirty swirl of rose gold, diamonds, and raspberry rubies burst from this stunning retro-era ring. Bold and playful designs in hefty settings define jewelry from the retro period of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Women joined the workforce en masse and fashion followed suit with more uniform silhouettes. To both compliment and compensate, jewelry became more spirited and joyful than the angular deco styles that preceded it. This ring is a perfect example, resembling an abstract peacock!
Handcrafted around the 1930s in 14 karat rose gold, this cocktail ring features natural rubies and .54 carats of diamonds. The largest diamond is a .40 carat transitional-cut, graded H-I near colorless and VS2 clarity. The white gold ribbon that compliments and runs through the middle of this piece is studded with an additional .14 carats in single-cut diamonds, all graded G near colorless and VS clarity.
