Retro Ruby and Diamond Cocktail Ring c1940
Fun and flirty swirls of rose gold, diamonds, and rubies burst from this stunning retro-era ring! Bold and playful designs in hefty settings define jewelry from the retro period of the late 1930s and 1940s. World War II led women's clothing to take on a more serious look with severe, angular silhouettes. To both compliment and compensate, jewelry became more spirited and joyful than the deco styles that preceded it. This ring is a perfect example! An antique old European cut diamond dazzles in the center between sculptural waves of rose gold and a pinwheel of diamonds set in white gold. Fine raspberry red rubies border the side edges, perfectly complimenting the rose gold and adding a pop of stunning color. The center diamond weighs about .45 carat, is a near colorless H-I color grade, and SI2 clarity grade. The side diamonds are all G color VS clarity single cuts weighing a total carat weight of about .20. This spectacular cocktail ring is a size 8 and may easily be resized upon request. The ring's top is about 3/4 inch by 1 inch wide and sits nearly half an inch tall.
