Russian amethysts are known for their rich, regal violet hues. This exemplary gemstone is the purest purple, so vibrant it nearly glows! Set in handmade 18k yellow gold, this 15 carat amethyst ring was likely made between the 1950s and 60s in Egypt. The setting's beautifully adorned basket creates a play of light in the back of the stone that almost makes it appear subtly facetted, adding intrigue to the deeply hued gem. The ring is currently a size 6 1/2 and may be easily resized upon request. The top of the stone measures about 20 by 15 millimeters, for scale.
