Schreiner Jewel Tone Czech Glass Set c1960
Costume jewelry at its very finest! Big, bold, gemmy Schreiner designs were all the rage in the 1950s and 60s. Primarily produced right here in New York City for elite American fashion houses, Schreiner Jewelry was so consistently featured on the cover and pages of Vogue that they never needed to do their own marketing! Fine Czech glass stones of unusual cuts, color combinations, and settings make Schreiner pieces distinctive and highly desirable to this day. This set is exemplary of their exceptional quality. The largest stones are a unique kind of square cut surrounded by brilliant round cuts in rich jewel tones. Faux pearls add a soft femininity to the bold statement earrings and bracelet throughout. They are of a size that truly makes an outfit! The bracelet is 2 inches wide and measures 6 3/4 inches around, fitting an average or slightly smaller than average wrist. The clip-on earrings are 1 3/4 inches across at their widest points. Only the bracelet in this set is signed, though they are a clear match.
