Turquoise Statement Ring in Cannetille Gold, 1930s
Gorgeous cannetille gold work perfectly compliments a smooth Persian turquoise cabochon in this beauty of a statement ring! Cannetille is the process of creating gold designs from tightly wound and wrapped thin gold wires. It was popular in the 1820s-30s when gold was scarce, as it allowed a jeweler to create large statement pieces from very little! This is an example of a 1930s reproduction, when all things 1800s were in vogue and many styles, like this one, were copied. This ring is made of 14k. The top has a diameter of about 7/8 inch. It is currently a size 7 1/2 and may be resized easily up or down upon request.
