Victorian Revival Opal and Pearl Brooch/Pendant c1980

Victorian Revival Opal and Pearl Brooch/Pendant c1980

There are stones that contains galaxies, others that contain starry brilliance, and others that glow with soft oceanic wonder– opals, diamonds, and pearls! Bringing these three together is pure magic– each one's beauty enhancing the others– against a backdrop of rich yellow gold in this gorgeous brooch that doubles as an elegantly elaborate pendant! Two fine opals are central to the piece, each with beautiful displays of the entire color spectrum, their translucence playing with light and dimension. Four diamonds add glitter to the piece. All are brilliant full cuts with near colorless G-H color grade, SI clarity grade, and total a carat weight of about .15. Seven Akoya cultured pearls frame the central pear-shaped opal while seed pearls line the brooch's whiplash curves. This piece was made around 1980 as a revival of Victorian designs. It includes a pinback for wear as a brooch and a hidden bale for wear as a pendant. The chain is not included, please inquire about options. The piece measures about 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches.
