Jadeite Cabochon Ring c1980
The earliest jade artifacts date to around 4000 BCE, making it one of the longest revered gemstones in history. To this day it is amongst the most valued stones in the world. Prized ardently in Chinese culture, it is said to bring its wearer health, wealth, happiness and good fortune. This fine example is an 8.9 carat cabochon simply set in rich 18k yellow gold. The simplicity of the setting allows for the jadeite's beauty to be in full focus, its soft green hue evoking a sense of serenity. This 1970s-80s ring is currently a size 4 1/2 and may be resized up or down upon request. The top measures about 5/8 inch long, for scale.
