Wild Rose Parure c1880
The wild rose is among the most enduring romantic symbols, associated with the great love goddess herself, Venus. The five-petaled beauty's sentiment is matched by the devotional lore of the diamond and beautifully brought together in this Art Nouveau-era parure. Set in satiny 15k matte yellow gold, this set was made in Vienna around 1880 and was originally a gift from an adoring groom to his bride. It features a total of 1 carat of rose-cut diamonds, all G-H near colorless grade and VS clarity grade.
The locket is an especially unique piece, as it can easily transform from pendant to brooch and visa versa. The pinback is easily removed and the catch folded in when worn as a pendant, and in turn, the bale can be removed for wear as a brooch! It measures about 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 5/8 inches long (2 1/4 with the bale). The chain is not included but may be found here, and other options are available.
The bracelet features a double tongue-in-groove click-in clasp. It measures about 6 1/4 inches around its inner circumference and 5/8 inch wide throughout, 1 1/2 inches wide with its rose.
The earrings feature modern 14k lever-back hooks and measure about 1/2 inch wide and 3/4 inch long.
